Cristiano Ronaldo possesses the most expensive private jet among football superstars—a Gulfstream G650 jet worth $65 million. Recently, Ronaldo made the decision to sell his current Gulfstream G200 private jet because it was a bit small for his growing number of family members. In addition to this jet, CR7 also owns another aircraft of the same brand, the Gulfstream G650, which carries a price tag of up to $65 million, offering luxury and modernity within.
Gulfstream is an aircraft manufacturer favored by numerous billionaires such as Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Kim Kardashian. Soccer superstars like David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar all own private planes. However, it is Cristiano Ronaldo alone who possesses the $65 million Gulfstream G650, making it the most expensive plane in the world of sports.
According to Business Insider, the Gulfstream G650 is the widest, longest, and tallest aircraft in its class. With its “super giant” size, Ronaldo could even accommodate the entire Juventus team for travel with the Gulfstream G650.
The aircraft offers an abundance of space, with its cabin divided into four sections for meetings, meals, relaxation, and entertainment. In the entertainment area, Gulfstream G650 passengers can unwind in custom-designed armchairs or catch up on the day’s news on a 42-inch flat-screen TV.
The G650’s handcrafted seats are designed with comfort in mind, providing passengers with a stable seating experience for their long journeys. The chairs can also convert into beds for added versatility.
The Gulfstream G650 can accommodate 18 people and carry 2,950 kg of luggage. Powered by two Rolls-Royce engines, the G650 can reach speeds of 1,133 km/h, surpassing those of commercial aircraft. Additionally, it has a range of 13,890 km without the need for refueling.
Departing from London at full speed, the Gulfstream G650 can fly non-stop to destinations such as New York and Beijing. At slower speeds and with less fuel consumption, it can fly non-stop to Buenos Aires and Los Angeles.
Gulfstream’s aerodynamic wings enhance speed, range, and efficiency, while fly-by-wire technology ensures a comfortable flight. The company has also developed advanced noise-canceling techniques to provide a cabin experience that is free of noise or possibly the quietest in its class.
The aircraft features 16 large windows, maximizing the use of natural light. Gulfstream’s clean air system, in general, and the G650, in particular, ensure pleasant and fresh air at all times. Ionization technology neutralizes allergens and viruses present in the cabin every two or three minutes. Currently, there are 208 G650s in service worldwide.
The new aircraft carries a list price of $65 million, but a used plane could be around $39 million. This aircraft project won the 2014 Collier Trophy for its contribution to “strengthening the aviation business through technological advances in aircraft performance and cabin comfort and safety.” Currently, the aircraft has been discontinued, with fewer versions of the G650ER and G700 available. The Gulfstream G650 can provide maximum comfort to Cristiano Ronaldo after hours of intense competition.
